Joe oversees ClearFile’s expansion into regulatory compliance for healthcare and other regulated industries, and created ClearFile—our SaaS platform built to simplify regulatory filings, licensure, and compliance across sectors.
Joe started his career at Aetna in their claims intake department. During his six years at the company, he rose through the ranks and became a senior project manager handling all Affordable Care Act (ACA) state filings, as well as national oversight for small group public exchanges. After his time at Aetna, Joe became Boston Medical Center’s Director of Qualified Health Plans (QHPs) and ACA products.
While he found success in the corporate world, Joe’s entrepreneurial aspirations were a guiding light in his career path. His deep expertise in regulatory compliance led him to recognize a gap in the market for regulatory technology—one that could help organizations navigate complex state and federal mandates, reduce filing errors, and respond to shifting requirements with speed and accuracy.
Without missing a beat, Joe immediately set to work creating ClearFile, a first-of-its-kind software that launched in under a year. ClearFile’s success was immediate, generating interest from some of the largest insurers in the country. Since then, Joe’s team has expanded to be four times the size.
Joe is now one of the leading experts in regulatory filing strategy, with a focus on building scalable, tech-enabled solutions for compliance teams across healthcare and beyond. While ClearFile began with QHP filings, it now supports a wide range of regulatory workflows—including Medicare Advantage, commercial and supplemental filings, multi-state licensure, and more.
Though many people would stop to enjoy the success, Joe is already hard at work leading the continued expansion of ClearFile to become a customizable, comprehensive and indispensable tool for the compliance departments of health insurers.
The fact that Joe is so passionate about helping more people with this solution is proof of what we all know here at ClearFile: for Joe, business success is secondary to his impact on the healthcare industry.
